Fred Nazem
Founder and Executive Chairman
Mr. Nazem has been building highly disruptive, industry-leading healthcare and technology companies since the late 1970’s. He Co-founded billion-dollar enterprises such as Cirrus Logic (OTC: CRUS), Blue Bird Bio (OTC: BLUE) and Concord Health/Genesis Health Ventures. He is best known as the turnaround specialist who led the successful reorganization of Oxford Health Plans, which was later sold to United Healthcare for more than $6 billion.
A scientist turned financier, Mr. Nazem holds a degree in biochemistry, a graduate degree in physical chemistry, an MBA in finance from Columbia University, and has done doctoral work in quantum physics. Among many honors, he is the recipient of the Fulbright One to World award and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for his contributions to the American economy.
ROBERT P. BROOK, MBA, MPH
President & Chief Operating Officer
Rob Brook is a seasoned health care executive and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in the health care industry. He has provided leadership in developing health care delivery systems, employee benefit programs, national sales and distribution systems, numerous acquisitions, developing and launching new products, taking companies public, strategic direction, and P&L management. Mr. Brook has served on numerous Boards of Directors including for-profit startup companies, nonprofit organizations, privately held companies, and his last three companies (EMSI, Benesight and EBP HealthPlans).
For Rejuvenan, Rob's focus will be driving revenue growth, building out the infrastructure for scaling the business volume and adding new services and products to the Rejuvenan platform.
Mr. Brook earned a Masters of Public Health and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii, and a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA.
MALINA MALKANI, MS, RDN, CDN
Director of Nutrition
Malina Linkas Malkani is a board-certified Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and nationally recognized expert in the media on diet, nutrition and behavioral lifestyle change. Malkani is passionate about reducing chronic diseases through fundamental changes in dietary behavior.
As Director of Nutrition at Rejuvenan, Malkani is the author of Rejuvenan’s original recipes, host of its nutritional videos, contributes to its chronic disease prevention and management literature and is the voice of its digital communications with the public.
Malkani holds Level 1 and 2 Certificates of Training in Adult Weight Management from the Commission on Dietetic Registration. She graduated from Northwestern University and holds a master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University.
DR. TOM OKARMA, M.D., PHD.
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Okarma is an internationally recognized biotechnology executive and a preeminent industry pioneer for telomerase-targeted cancer treatments, HESC-based cell therapy, and regenerative medicine. He served as CEO of of Geron Corporation (NASDAQ: GERN) from 1999-2011 and as CEO of Asterias Biotherapeutics (NYSE: AST) from 2012-2014. He is responsible for transforming two U.S. biotechnology companies from early stage science through product development to Phase 2 and Phase 3 pivotal clinical trials.
Dr. Okarma attended Dartmouth College and received his Ph.D., M.D. and M.B.A from Stanford University. He has 15 issued U.S. patents and over 50 peer reviewed publications.
DR. JOEL FUHRMAN, M.D.
Chief of Nutritional Medicine
Dr. Fuhrman is a nutritional research scientist who specializes in the prevention and reversal of disease through nutritional methodology. He is the author of seven books, including the New York Times bestsellers Eat to Live, Super Immunity and End of Diabetes.
Dr. Fuhrman is a board-certified family physician who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1988. He is also a popular PBS commentator on holistic health.
